Mr Daisuke Uemura joined Mapletree in January 2010 as the Head of Projects and Development Management.
Prior to joining the company, Mr Uemura was a Vice President of AMB Property Japan and managed several large construction projects of warehouses, totaling of 500M USD. He also supervised a score of construction projects in Europe and Asia at the headquarters in San Francisco.
Before joining AMB in 2004, Mr Uemura had worked for Shimizu Corporation, one of the largest general contractors in Japan, for 18 years. He served as a project manager and completed large infrastructures, including an 11-km tunnel.
Mr Uemura holds two Degrees of Master of Science, one from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (1995) and the other from University of Tokyo (1986), both majoring in Civil Engineering. He is a licensed Professional Engineer in Civil Engineering in the State of Oregon and has served as the President of Japan Society of Professional Engineers from 2005-2009.
